Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service
The Groom Gallery reserves the right to refuse, modify, pause, or discontinue a grooming service at any point if continuing would compromise an animal’s comfort, safety, or well-being.
This discretion exists to protect the animal, the groomer, and the quality of care provided within the studio.
Refusing or discontinuing a service is never a judgment of the animal or the person who cares for them. It is a reflection of humane limits and the responsibility to act in the animal’s best interest.
Choosing not to proceed is sometimes the most responsible form of care.
-
A grooming service may be declined or stopped if, at any time, one or more of the following occurs:
The animal exhibits excessive stress, fear, fatigue, pain, or intolerance for handling
The coat condition places humane limits on what can be safely addressed
Skin, medical, mobility, or behavioral concerns restrict safe grooming
Continuing would require forcing compliance or causing unnecessary distress
The service requested cannot be provided responsibly within a non-veterinary setting
These decisions are based on real-time assessment and professional judgment, not on completing a predetermined service or cosmetic outcome.
-
When a service is modified or discontinued, care may involve:
Adjusting the scope of work
Shortening the appointment
Staging grooming over multiple visits
Recommending a different service approach
Referring to veterinary care when appropriate
Any decision to stop or alter a service is explained clearly and respectfully at the time it occurs.
